Rock and Roll Lullaby (15th Nov 2011)

Rock and Roll Lullaby
As the rocks all roll
and the Teddy Boys bowl
and their ducks stick smart
in the breeze
as the pinball rattles
and the flicks do battle
and the pony-tails
stand and tease

With the blue suede shoes
and the top ten news
as the drainpipes soak in the bath
the Memphis King sings
and the dance hall swings
and the blue beat
paves out the path

But the rocks still rolling
and old Ted's still strolling
and the crepes
still tread in the street
Yes it still lives on
though its dead and gone
Jimmy Dean's still
the man to meet

Cobwebs in the Ballroom

Cobwebs in the Ballroom
It's dazzling days are done my darling
It's waltzes have all waltzed
It's last drink has been served my darling
The orchestra has stopped

Revolving doors are still my darling
The lobby's left forlone
It's windows and it's doors my darling
are open to wind's moan

Where once we had our tryst my darling
Where once we pledged our vows
The Bridal suite is dark my darling
Still darker are its bows

It stands bleak upon a hill my darling
Bleak, ruin 'gainst the sky
The key's we had won't fit my darling
It's locks have rusted dry

It's corridors are 'lone my darling
As empty as the tomb
It's grandeur has all gone my darling
It's corpse just skin and bone

Desperately Seeking...

Desperately Seeking.... (October 2011)
I'm so desperately seeking something
but I don't know what
I'm so desperate to possess that
which I've quite forgot

I have searched the world all over
but I've not found it
Yet I desperately wish to covet
what I cannot get

Still I'm desperately seeking something
so I search and seek
but the thing I'm desperately seeking
's desperately seeking me

Travelling Blind

Travelling Blind (October 2011)
The Road is clear
the air and the birds

and likelark clear
skylark clear

Skylark blue as the clouds
breathing the honey I crave
I sit back and
smell, feel and touch

The Wind, very soft
touches my face

with its blue caresses
as the sky
and the clouds are travelling free

to all the Places I would go
each day

as I sit in my chair
never, ever moving
just Travelling Blind

The Terrible Circus

The Terrible Circus (March 2011)
The Terrible Circus is coming to town
devoid of all laughter
and minus one clown
The Terrible Circus is coming today
So stay in your houses
so kneel down and pray

No lions, no tigers commend it's array
It's acrobats missing
and long gone astray
But there are things aplenty
in tent, cage and tope
Though few wish to see them
The Things that might stop

There's a tank filled with White Things
That wriggle and broil
and last year they made off
with young Jimmy Doyle

There's a Translucent Lady
Behind a Dark Veil
and a strange aged baby
whose made some hearts fail

There are Dark Things in number
within it's display
from this World and that World
they're coming today

So stay out of that meadow
and wish the night on
'til the Terrible Circus
has faded and gone
